Present

God wants you to be present. How many times have we let the business of life get in the way of just being present with God and our family. We are constantly on our phones, iPads, or laptops. Our heads are always down, glued to the screen. The sad thing about this, is that one day you’ll want to be present, and the people you want to be present with, won’t be there. You’ll be looking back at your life thinking, “What happened? My kids are grown and have family of their own. Some of them have moved away and are spending time with others.” And there you will be, phone in hand, checking social media, rather than having a relationship with God and checking on your family.

There are so many times where we checkout of life and God to check in to social media and TV. It’s about time that we put down our phones and look around. See your family and most of all see the goodness that God has done. We must lift out heads up and realize that we are here for a reason that God knows. So, throughout our daily lives, lets be present with those around us. Let’s be present when we spend time with God throughout the day.

Remember, that being present will be one of the best gifts you give Jesus and your family. “He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10).

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I pray that everyone who reads this devotional realizes that they need to be present with You and their family. Open their eyes to being still and knowing that You are God. Give them peace and release the tension they feel from spending so much time on their phones, iPads, and laptops. Show them all, what it means to be present, in their daily lives. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
