We don’t have to be someone we are not for God to love us. We don’t have to change our personalities, or the way we look, or the style of clothes we want to wear. Instead God loves us so much that He died for us when we were still in our sin. He didn’t die when we had our lives all together or when we were running after Him. Instead he died when we were the farthest away, he called us when we were at our worst, and he delivered us when we needed deliverance. Love is not just a four-letter word to be thrown around. It’s a word that tells others we will be there for them no matter what their life looks like. Love from God is not temporary but eternal. You never have to divorce God’s love because it’s a love worthy of being kept and worthy of being desired. And God’s love changes people’s hearts so someday our marriages on earth can represent the type of love that God has for us.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us at our worst and saving us. Thank You that we don’t have to change ourselves for You to love us. Instead Your love automatically changes our hearts to deny ourselves, pick up our cross, and follow You. Your love is worthy of being desired. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
