DOUBLE BLESSING, otherwise known as Ja’Naya and Jay’Den-Alexis, are twin sisters that love to write Christian novels. They graduated with an Associates of Arts in Creative Writing and a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Writing – Journalism. They both enjoy singing and sharing the Good News, John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Jay'Den-Alexis' Testimony:
I gave my life to the Lord when I was young. However, when I was eight years old, I noticed a person who called himself a Christian but didn’t live the Christian life. So, I rededicated my life to Christ when I was eight and told Jesus that I want to be a real Christian and show people what a true Christian is. My favorite scripture is, "You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you," (Song of Solomon 4:7).
Ja'Naya's Testimony:
I came to Christ when I was twelve. We were raised in a Christian home, and always knew and believed in God. But when I was about ten, I started to worry if I’d make it to heaven or not. I felt like I was a good person but knew Jesus was the only way. When I was twelve, I was watching a lady preacher on tv who said I needed to be on fire for Christ. God’s Spirit hit me in that moment, and I knew I needed to surrender my life to Jesus and become fully devoted to Him. So, I surrendered and literally felt God's hand on my back filling me with the Holy Spirit. Now I know I’m going to make it to heaven since Jesus lives inside me. "I baptize you with water for repentance, but after me will come One more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire," (Matthew 3:11).

How many times do we overly dwell on things that aren’t important? Sadly, we might do this every day.
However, God didn’t call us to worry about things in our past, present, or future. And he already told us that when we worry, it’s not going to help the situation. “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?” (Luke 12:25). He even said in Matthew 6:34, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
God never promised us an easy road. But what he did promise was to never leave us nor forsake us. Just knowing this should allow us to sit back and relax. But changing our thoughts takes practice. We’re probably not going to stop worrying overnight. Instead, it’s a mind change where we trust in God more than ourselves and others. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will,” (Romans 12:2).
Therefore, we should take every thought under captivity and know that if the thought is causing us to worry, it’s not a God given thought.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, sometimes it feels odd to relax and let our minds rest. I ask that You help us make this our new normal: taking every thought under captivity and trusting that You have everything under control. Matthew 19:26, “ . . .with God all things are possible.” In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
