Where's God?

Where is God when things go wrong? Where is God when war breaks out and children are abused and mistreated. Where is God when a family breaks apart, a divorce happens, and sickness is on the loose? Where’s God? Why doesn’t God always do something? And why do bad things happen to His people? The answer: We live in a sinful world, but God is always with us. God didn’t create a bad world filled with war, sickness, disease, and abuse. He made a world where we could decide to love Him. Sadly, people have made the choice not to love Him. Instead, they follow the devil instead of the divine Creator. So, why do we trust God? We trust Him because He sent His one and only Son to die for us, that we may have life and life to the fullest. Sometimes life to the fullest doesn’t always mean we have the finest house, the coolest car, and a lot of money. Why? Because life to the fullest begins when we have Jesus. We could be homeless, sick, abused, in the midst of war, and yet we are living our life to the fullest because we have Jesus. Jesus came to die for us and because of that we can choose to love Him. Yes, we’re all sinners and all have fallen short, but because of Jesus we are living out eternity today. And the people that are still living in sin, causing war and abusing others will be judged by a Judge that is filled with justice. All we must do is trust God and wait. “These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.” (Hebrews 11:39-40).

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help us trust You when the world is falling apart. Help us lean on You when we’re not strong. Help us keep our eyes focused on You when things are crumbling around us. Show us Your love and justice Lord. And thank You for dying on the cross to save us from sin and give us life and life more abundantly. We pray for the saving of Your people Israel and the peace of Jerusalem. Thank You that Justice is coming soon for all the world. “with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26). In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
