Throughout the Old Testament God tells his people to tell the next generation what He did for the Israelites in the past. And we should still do this today. But we should also remind ourselves what God has done for us. Can you remember the day you gave your life to the Lord, so thankful that God showed you mercy and grace? Can you remember a time where you were low on food and yet somehow God provided? Can you remember when God turned your bad season of life into a mountain peak looking at the valley, He just carried you through? Do you remember the time when He parted your red sea and walked through the fire with You? God has always been there. And yet many times we tend to forget. But let me tell you something. God has a reason for telling people to remember. He never wants us to forget our love story with Him.
So remember: the more you do life with Jesus and remember what he’s done for you, the more you’ll fall in love with Him. So take a minute and go back to the time God met you at your worst, fixed you up, and carried you through the valley. And then thank Him for the mountain peak.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help us always remember how You never leave us nor forsake us. Thank You for providing food for us, carrying us through the valley, parting the red sea, and walking us through the fire. And Lord, now that we’re on the mountain top, I pray You never let us forget our love story together. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. “with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26).
