Have you ever felt lonely? It’s like an inner ache that’s hard to go away. But God knows exactly what it feels like to be lonely. When it was about time for Him to die on the cross for our sins, everybody left Him. Jesus was alone. Even when the sins of the world came upon Him, His own Father couldn’t look at Him. We are all sinners and sometimes we are all lonely. But because Jesus died on the cross for us, He also took our loneliness. I know sometimes that sounds hard. And sometimes we may feel like we want people’s company. But in reality, we all need Jesus. Jesus is the only one who will take away our loneliness. Sometimes we think if only we had a husband, wife, friends, then I won’t be lonely. But there is someone who is closer than a brother, closer than a husband or wife, and closer than your inmost being and thoughts that will never satisfy. His name is Jesus. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39).
Prayer
Heavenly Father, take away our loneliness. Help each one of us hear Your voice and rebuke the devil’s lies. Thank You for being closer than a brother. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. “with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26).
