When the Holy Spirit lives within us, we have joy. The Bible states, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23). Therefore, the Holy Spirit is seen through joy in your life.
The Bible states, “…for the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). So, when others see you, do they see joy? When you are going through a hard time, does joy still shine through you? These are a few questions to ask yourself as you think of joy in your own life.
Romans 15:13, states, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” So, seek the Holy Spirit and allow Him to give you joy through all walks of life. “With God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). So, when you feel lonely, sad, worried, anxious, etc., Jesus can still bring you joy through the salvation of your soul. “Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls” (1 Peter 1:8-9).
So, deny the flesh that brings worry, fear, condemnation, etc., and allow joy to enter your heart. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him” (John 3:17).
So, maybe you have been mourning a loss of a loved one and need joy to fill your heart again. Maybe your worried about tomorrow or how your parents’ marriage will turn out. Maybe you're afraid about the future and what God has planned for you. However, through all these worries and doubts, God can bless you, show you the joy of salvation, and free you from all worries and fears. “May your unfailing love come to me, LORD, your salvation, according to your promise; then I can answer anyone who taunts me, for I trust in your word” (Psalm 119:41-42). “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:29-30).
Prayer
Heavenly Father, bless everyone who reads this post with Your joy. Show them that no matter what they are walking through, You are there. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6). Deliver them from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Be with them Lord and show them Your joy. I loose Nehemiah 8:10 into their lives, “…for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” In Jesus Mighty Holy name I pray, Amen. “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).
God Bless,
Double Blessing
