When people see you, what do they see? If you are born-again, then people should see and notice Jesus shining through you.
““You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16).
So, stop whatever you are doing today and look at yourself. Are you shining God’s light? Are others seeing you shine for Jesus or are you hiding your beliefs because you are afraid of what others might think of you?
We all need to reflect and realize what this life is all about. It’s not about how many friends you have or how many people are following you on social media. It’s not about working your way to heaven or trying to do so many things to have people or even God love you. All Jesus wants is for you to love him. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’” (Mark 12:30). And if you love Jesus, you will do what He commands and shine His glorious light that shines within you: The Holy Spirit. “You are my friends if you do what I command.” (John 15:14).
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help us all shine your light. Help us do everything we do to the glory of God, and may others see You shining through us by the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
