Build Your Relationship with God
Never stop getting to know the Lord. There are some days when we don’t want to read the Bible, or worship, or spend time talking/praying to God. But that is the enemy trying to get you farther from Jesus rather than closer to Him. Don’t just go to God when things are tough or when you have anxiety. Instead go to Him throughout your everyday life. That way you are continually building your relationship with God and resisting temptation from the devil. 1 Peter 5:8-10 says, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast.”
Therefore, I want to encourage you all to stand firm in your relationship with God. It’s not a religion, it’s a relationship. So get closer to Jesus by spending time with Him in your everyday life, not just when things are going wrong.
Heavenly Father, help us spend more time with You every day of our lives. Even if we only have a few minutes alone help us use that time to build our relationship with you and not the people in this world. Thank You for protecting us from the roaring lion looking for someone to devour. And thank You for being the Lion of Judah within us. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
